IMPORTANT SUB-2000 SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

We have recently identified an issue with the heat treatment of certain steel tubes received from a third-party supplier from which the barrels for a limited number of Kel-Tec SUB-2000 rifles were manufactured. This could potentially cause the barrel to rupture when a cartridge is fired and could result in serious personal injury. The safety of our customers is our primary concern, so Kel-Tec has voluntarily initiated this recall because of the possibility of a barrel rupturing.

This recall only affects a portion of SUB-2000s that were manufactured in 2017.

• A friend has one that I haven't seen yet. I asked for the serial number and he advised it is CCB##. Does this seem right? If so, how old would that serial number make the gun out to be? I read over the FAQ but didn't see anything directly related to serial numbers and the P32. There is a blurb referring to serial numbers for the P3at.
• Kel Tec uses a modified base 34 system for serial numbers. Keltec base 34 Serial Number system EXPLAINED:. The last two digits represent the numbers 0 to 99 and will always be numbers. To avoid confusion with the numbers one and zero, the letters 'I' and 'O' are not used. The system starts with the numbers 1-999 and then uses 24 letters before.
